Fishalytics, the platform for precision aquaculture leveraging satellite data and AI to manage off-shore aquaculture facilities.
In g-nous, we believe that aquaculture offers ample opportunities to reduce hunger and improve nutrition, alleviate poverty, generate economic growth and ensure better use of natural resources. Aquaculture is one of the fastest-growing food sectors and has the potential to produce the fish necessary to help meet the demands of a growing population.
When aquaculture meets space technologies and UN SDGs 1,2, and 14, the result is: Fishalytics.
Fishalytics is the platform for precision aquaculture. Thanks to a user-friendly dashboard, Fishalytics offers a comprehensive solution to manage off-shore aquaculture facilities, covering all the needs for operational activities. Through the analysis of Copernicus Sentinel-2 and Sentinel-3 data provided by Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service (CMEMS), IoT devices, AI, crowdsourcing of environmental data and facility management modules, Fishalytics allows to keep all the activities under control.
Fishalytics provides aquafarmers with crucial information to enhance productivity and reduce loss production risks relying on its user-friendly dashboard for a better planning of aquaculture farm sitting and management, along with an improved knowledge of surrounding water conditions for aquaculture farm sitting. Fishalytics offers a comprehensive solution to manage offshore aquaculture facilities, covering all the needs for operational activities and allowing to keep all the activities under control. By means of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning algorithms, Fishalytics obtains full integration for:
- feed optimization and facility management (warehouse, finance, BI);
- monitoring and predict key water indicators (nutrient content, quality, temperature) and sea conditions,;
- predictive models to increase productivity and mitigate risks;
- real-time monitoring of off-shore facilities for optimization of processes.
In the light of the Blue Economy pillars, Fishalytics utilises CMEMS data provides information about the physical and chemical state variability, as well as the dynamics of the world’s ocean, ice, and marine ecosystems with the objective to deliver and maintain a state-of-the-art service responding to public and private user needs. Whilst offering relevant inputs to monitor water quality for human well-being and sustainable aquaculture, it fulfils European directives whereas supporting the management of aquaculture farms and the sustainable exploitation of ocean’s living resources.
Within and beyond the Mediterrenenan area, the user would benefit from an historical atlas and real-time and forecast data of the selected aquaculture site, ready-to-use and sustained information on water parameters through scientifically validated data with comparison to the traditional tools utilised nowadays.
